The MC74HC4066A uses silicon-gate CMOS technology to achieve fast propagation delay, low on-resistance, and low off-channel leakage. This bidirectional switch/mux/demultiplexer controls analog and digital voltages that vary over the full supply range (VCC to GND). The HC4066A has the same pinout as the metal gate CMOS MC14016 and MC14066. Each device has four independent switches. The device is designed so that the on-resistance (RON) is more linear over the input voltage range than the RON of metal-gate CMOS analog switches. The on/off control input is compatible with standard CMOS outputs; with pull-up resistors, it is compatible with LSTTL outputs. For an analog switch with voltage level shifter, see HC4316A.
